There is a lot of info here. Anybody have tips on the easiest way to get a FREE website up for referrals? It would have to be a good, free site because not all companies allow you to be an affiliate if you have a cheap site. I had one on freewebs before, but it was not ideal. How would I then get traffic to this site using all the info here.

Information overload!

Hi Rathofman,

I think most of those views were probably "bots" from search engines.

The activity in the forum has dropped off significantly over the past year or so and I haven't had the time to invest to get it jump started again. Sorry no one has helped you.

To give some feedback on your question, I would say that there are no good "free" hosting alternatives. Tyipcally, affiliate sites are one of two categories:

1. made for primarily earning free search engine traffic (organically)

2. made for primarily earning traffic by advertising/marketing

If you are hoping for free search engine traffic, you should know that search engines command a lot less traffic nowadays (even mighty Google) than just a few years ago. One hint of that is the wide range of top 5 listings for GPH that drives almost ZERO traffic these days. My point is that if you use a "free hosted" site, you are going to get even less traffic because those are specifically ignored by most search engines.

If, however, you have a marketing/ad budget; then you can probably afford a small hosting account. The key to marketing/advertising is knowing what works and what doesn't. I've spent more than 6-figures over the past few years in learning what does and does not work. Most (95%) of sites advertising do not work, sadly.

I hope that helps :animalsmiley037:

Cheers,

Brandon

Try link exchanging, forum posting. Create a blog and start writing some good content.
Over time you will get bunch of backlinks.

You can also monitor some your competitors and/or friends site on the net.
Extract their backlinks and see where they ussually come. then try to link exchanging
with those site.

Remember that you need enough patient for getting quality traffic to your site. but
let me say that's not so hard. Google will help you out.
