I was a member of a number of sites run by cherokee treasures. I joined in fall of 2006, earned about $50 and was paid. I continued, joined all the sites they had and earned around $300 between them. I was never paid that money and neither was anyone else after about Jan 2007. I made my request for payouts around May of last years after I had reached payout at every site. I was also waiting for them to get their financial problems straightened out, as they promised on their board. Please don't join them, they have fallen apart and are not paying or responding to e-mails.

Hello
PTR sites are a big waste of time. Because of members that click & ignore ads while the timer runs down, there is really no cash to pay members. I own 4 sites that I took offline for that very reason. PTR members feel an entitlement to the small amount being offered to view an ad. Advertisers that pay out good money for ads that never produce income quit purchasing them. At one time I purchased large quantities of ads from many different sites to advertise products that I sold. These were products that everyone has to purchase at some time. I discovered that PTR members felt that they were there to earn & it would be a loss if they spent any money. Even though my products were some 60% below retail they did not sell for that very reason. Rather than support an advertiser they would pay more at their local retailer. This is the eason that your PTR sites are not paying very well. Most everything they send is redemptions. The big shame is that most sites either send lots of points, that require a large amount to redeem for an ad or cash ads pay 1/40, 1/50 or 1/100 cent. PTR members have no one to blame but themselves for the state of the PTR industry. I belong to very few sites these days. Just a few that belong to friends. I click very very few ads. Why waste my time. At some point I will relaunch my sites away from the PTR industry that we now know. I want fresh new people to start a fresh new industry to attract quality advertisers that want to advertise to people that are truly interested in purchasing something. My sites will not be paying 1/100 cent links to members. I will only want members that want to earn money, not feel an entitlement to it. I will not run a welfare club. 98% OF CURRENT PTR MEMBERS WILL NOT BE WELCOME TO JOIN. When I see well known ptr usernames, they will be deleted. I suggest that people drop the worthless ptr sites & join survey sites that pay either cash or points that can be redeemed. Those that enter you in to a drawing are a waste. I have won one in 7 years. I have entered thousands. Your odds are real slim. I will do the occasional survey for a entry drawing from a sigte that usually pays cash. Just NEVER NEVER NEVER pay for one of these deals that promise that you will rarn enough to live in a mansion or that you can fill out a one pager that wants your statistics & if you like Pepsi or Coke better. Then you earn $25 for that 2 minute survey. Then you can sit there & do those for hours. They also promise the $75-$150 per hour focus groups. You get all that for ONLY $74.99 or such other rip off price. People that believe that there are super easy untold riches deserve what they get. I can assure you that if their claims were true, they would NOT turn you on to it. They would sptread that to their family & close friends
Instead they hope that they can catch people greedy & stupid enough to believe that you can fill out these 2 minute 1 pagers for $25
I advise everyone to dump ptr & all the online scams & find surveys & other programs that pay small but sustainable amounts of money that will allow you to earn a little something. Always support online advertisers when you can. These are usually small people like you that are trying to earn a living. You can easily get a great deal & help the little guy too. What goes around-comes back around.

Hello thebumpkin,
Your observations -in my opinion- are right on point. While your message is discouraging, it is the truth about why PTR and PTC have gone downhill. I run my own PTC and it is good to give a little boost to my traffic stats, but I find that those members are no good for purchases -like you said.
The best you can hope for is to get them to join another "welfare site" as you put it.
Your post was really good, but I wish it had not been a reply to this thread but a whole new thread in and of itself. It would be good for debate, I think.
Cheers and welcome to GPH!
