I've read somewhere about the downfall of bought page impressions, more exactly a company that purchased 1 million impressions for several thousand dollars and in the end they only got a few thousand relevant clicks.
I'm just wondering if any of you bought page impressions and how they worked out,or just your opinion/knowledge about this subject.

I would not buy any page impressions from any company with which I did not have a good, long history and established trust. For instance, I have bought impressions from sitepoint and it was a good purchase for my service at the time.

However, even with a company as huge as Google, I was defrauded by a publisher who faked their impressions and Google stood by them and never refunded my money. I was 100% ripped off and paid $440 in less than 4 days for fake impressions. I only got 2 clicks out of the $440 and ZERO sign-ups. So, that -to me- should have been proof enough. But, of course, I also had other proof, statistics, etc. Google never did give my money back.

Be wary buying page impressions!

Oh my God you had an awful experience. It's a shock to see such things happen.

I agree that I would be wary of such thing. I prefer a flat rate for an entire month for instance (smaller prices of course) or paid impressions only on some VERY reputable site.

In the end it's important to have clicks, more than just show an ad .. my opinion

This is true in 90% of the case, I agree. I think that "Branding" is really only important if your company is big enough to spend the big dollars. As a small company, it just doesn't make sense unless you can back up your Brand with marketing dollars.
