Do you work a lot on your sites? Do you invest less time? What about money? How much do you invest in your site?

In my sites (I have 2..) i invest mostly time..

I have a site that uses the Etomite script and i constantly have to add content. That does take up some time..

The other one uses Wordpress. Again - adding content takes up quite some time. I don't always have free time but when i do - i 'invest' :)

During the first month of my site, I invest most of my time by writing more relevant contents to my site. I think I have about more than twenty at that time. Recently I haven’t had a time for my blog because I’m too busy with my online job as a writer.

Depending on the type of site you have you can invest both time and money. If you think about it, time is money.

My sites consist of content and advertising. If I am going to build traffic, I feel that I need to share information and hedge my bet that someone coming to my site is going to find something of interest. I spend money on automation to rotate my ads, etc.

Some of my sites use video and the content upload is not automatic. This takes up time also. I compare websites to the art of fishing. You have to be in the right pond, you have to have the right bait, the right rodnreel or even a pole. But you have to do the work.

Thanks for the post.

I am not in any site venture at the moment but this would be my way:

Depending on the magnitude of the project I would allocate my free time for it in this order:

-Content
-Site changes and designs
-Advertising
-Searching for partners and sponsors
-Searching for banner exchanging

If the projects seems to have a good start, paid advertising might be an answer for an even bigger boost, promotion.

Too much... mostly because -as woomedia pointed out- "time is money"

I have invested in the latest site 250 USD already (VB license, gars - a plugin, and a business directory script).

In others I just pay for the domain and the hosting. My work is time indeed, at "costs" a lot too :D

I barely invest any money into my blogs but I invest a couple of hours a day to look up and write interesting content to put into my blogs and I am constantly working on things I can add to make my blogs better.

I have two sites, a cat related site in which I most invest time to get good and usefull content. My other site, a PTR site, takes a lot of time to promote and I have also spend $300+ in script, plugins etc.

I will probably never make back what my partner and I have put into the sites.
I don't expect to I did not get into this to make lots of cash i wasn't that gullible
to believe I would. Am happy to remain sustainable enough to pay my members.
