It is important to have a well optimized site if you want to have success with it.
The better the SEO - the better the traffic :D
1. Use the keywords as much as you can, but do not exaggerate. Google doesn't like that, if you exaggerate in this you might be seen as a spammer.
2. Use the meta tag and keywords tag wisely. Write a nice description using the main keywords and include the important keywords in the tags.

-Use a 2%-6% keyword density in your content, never overdue it too much,Google doesn't seem to like keyword spam.
-Include keywords in title, headers and middle paragraphs.
-Always use the keywords best suited for your site,do not put non relevant keywords or meta tags to your content.
-make sure your pages are interconnected with back links to one another.Try also making a site map.
-Use S.E.O friendly software for your site.
-Instead of using common keywords that are fought upon by everyone, use catchy phrases that suit your site and that are often used in search engines.
-Have a lot of content on your site. The more pages and words the better.
-Promote the site to similar ones so that you get back relevant visitors.
-When you bookmark the site to directories and networks use your keyword site description in the anchor text.
-Buy ads and increase your traffic count and page views.
I can't think or more right now,I'm not really a S.E.O expert.Hope this helps.Remember,content is everything.

This is a good point. Any given page will have a certain amount of "assigned ranking power" and you are dividing it among the various keywords you are trying to target. So, let's say that you have 10 pages all trying to target the same 10 keywords that everyone else is targeting. Most likely, you are diluting your ranking power per page so much that no specific page will rank high enough to be noticed.
Additionally, because all pages in that example target the same keywords, those pages are just about guaranteed not to ever outrank any other site -even with good content.
So, the moral?
Content is King... but remain focused. :)

The Wordpress plugin known as "All-in-One SEO Pack" will automatically pick out very good titles, keywords, and other META data for your blog posts.
It does not publish a sitemap, handle internal linking, or have anything to do with advertising specifically. So, the answer is that is does some of the things mentioned but not all. It handles a lot of the "on-page optimization" for you, and you are responsible for quality content and "off-site optimization."

Agreed. As much as I hate to admit it, Google Analytics (also accessible from within Adwords) is a great tool for analyzing your site and understanding how people find and use it.

As well as using targeted keywords and writing great content, it is also important to build tons of backlinks with your chosen keyword in the anchor text. Many times smaller sites can win the race over larger ones if they have more backlinks/in-pointing links pointing to their webpage.
