From your own experience and from what you have read .. when it comes to working from home and do this online .. which do you think is the are with the most scams? Would it be paid email reading? Affiliate systems? Others?

I am only guessing, and i guess paid emails are most likely to be scams.
I have a friend who was always looking for ways to earn money online and somehow he managed to get scammed by paid email.
He also got scammed by other 'paying' programs, but with this one he encountered the most trouble...

I am also guessing... but I think the most risky ones are the paid to read and surf ones. I don't know, I can't explain why I just don't trust those kind of programes! But I am sure I won't be trying them very soon...

Personally, I only got scammed from mistery shopping, but I am sure it was an exception.

Hi netguy,

I've seen scams in every niche. I think it's the people; not the niche.

I've even been scammed by a bank (in Costa Rica), Google (allowed a publisher to fraud me out of $400 of faked impressions), etc etc.

Although, I think the "MLM" theme behind HYIP and referral programs (such as paid to surf, read, etc) are all the most likely targets for shady webmasters looking to rip off a few people.

The problem is there are always those people who will back a program with complete faith once they get $1 back on their $4 investment. They shout it to the whole world in the hopes that they help make that program take off. This is what MLM is all about. In the end, those people -in most cases- simply wasted their efforts so that the program owner could run off with all the money.

Reading your message Puravida I can think too that Google Adsense might be viewed as the biggest scam ever by people who had their accounts frozen even if they didn't click the ads or done anything wrong. There are so many ways a "friend" can "kill" your account and the Adsense guys spend no time to actually see who's fault this is. I read so many stories from people who cannot get their accounts reinstated or the money because of being kicked out with no warning or explanation.

That's a good point, nexus.

I had a friend whose paypal account was frozen with a little over $2,000 USD in it. He was unfairly reported as fraud by a shady person who got others to also report my friend. He never did fraud anyone but he also never did get his money back!

At Google AdSense there are few ways not to get scammed because others wanna hurt you... You can put that plugin that shows whose IP has been clicking on your ads, and each time you see something fishy (such as more clicks from one IP), you must report to Google. Try communicating with them, asking questions each time you aren't sure of anything... usually, each account has one contact person from Google, who answers your emails and takes care of your ads and stuff. You could establish a relationship with him, it would sometimes be useful in future occasions, in case there are others who want to fraud you (like what you said above).

Very good suggestions. Google didn't have those kinds of tracking systems in place back when the event I mentioned took place. But, for future reference, I will definitely take heed of your suggestions. Thanks!
