In my case it's really hard. My loved ones do have a lot of nice things already so it's harder each year to come up with something good, useful and not in their posession yet. You can always try something funny in this case, maybe a nice perfume (most people do like them), some piece of clothing you know they'd love, still it's hard. I didn't purchase anything just yet, I am still thinking ...

Same here. I didn't purchase anything for my significant other yet, but I have bought gifts for everyone else. I guess I'm saving the best for last ;)

Mine has been done since Howl-O-Ween ;)

As far as gift ideas are concerned.... gift cards are usually a safe and welcome gift...Another idea would be to make a donation to a loved ones favorite charity (in their name) this would be for the individual who has everything.... ;)

Collectable coins are another nice gift........

I need stocking stuffer ideas for 8 yr old girl, 4 yr old boy adn 12 yr old boy. Any ideas would be great.

Hmm... yeah, that's tough.

I used to get candy canes, batteries, toothbrushes, and candy. Of course, I only really like the candy and had to have the batteries for the gifts ;)

I didn't buy any presents yet.
I always do this in the last minute...
At least this year i saved money first :) There were times i wanted to buy some stuff but didn't have the money to buy it.
This year i only have to buy 3 or 4 presents. My boyfriend, my best friend, my sister and maybe her boyfriend.. I want the gifts to be small. Something nice, not very fancy. I'm not a great shopper and i am still an adept of the idea that smaller gifts from the heart with a meaning are better than other :)

I totally agree with you...Home-made gifts are also to be considered truly from the heart!!! Actually... I made some of my gifts this year...No-Sew Blankets....They are beautiful/personable/easy to make (only requires a pair of scissors)/inexpensive... ;)

I also agree but I cannot sew or knit so I have been known to draw, make something, or write poetry for a loved one. The reaction can be as good if not better than a big, expensive gift! :)

Several years ago, the adults in my family opted out of exchanging gifts.....so, I have a short shopping list.....Five boys, 3-12 years of age!

I love it....shopping for them is much more fun than trying to choose gifts for adults who don't need, or want, anything special...If they do, they go ahead and get it, themselves, and, do not wait until Christmas.

Well, I guess I need to back up, and, say that there is one exception....I have a 90-year-old Aunt that I buy a gift for.....usually, a pretty Christmas flower, some of her favorite chocolates, and a pretty calendar for the New Year.

Christmas-time has changed for our family since my Mom died 8 years ago. We no longer have the huge gatherings we loved so much. I guess that happens naturally in many families....I know it did when my Grandmother died.....Aunts & Uncles scattered; their families grew, and, they all started their own Christmas traditions.

It's fun to see the youngsters enjoying the festivities nowdays; but, I still get nostalgic this time of year, and, yearn for the good times of those years gone by.....lots of good memories there.

We can still have the occasional family reunion, but, those are different....There's just something special about Christmas!

;)

I agree. very true. My family has also resigned to this practice -as it is better for the kids. ;)

Bought most of the presents from the beginning of this month, I just love Christmas shopping :D Didn't wanna wait until the last moment because it's crazy in the shops right now... The most hard things to offer are the ones for your best friend and for your lover, cause you know them best, and already gave them so many presents that you left out of ideas... it's my case at least, as I love to offer only original gifts :D
