I am pretty new to all these money making ideas and I have to admit I didn't yet try this. What I am mostly concerned is the amount of time such a business would require. Is there a lot of time involved in a survey? Are they short and easy to fill in? What's your experience?

How much actual work does a paid survey mean?

A paid survey means that you answer questions about a product which is not yet on the market
for a company and sometimes have to choose preference on advertising the product with labels on
the product or advertising on TV.Some companies pay a little amount for it or some only add
your name on a monthly drawing. It takes about between 5 minutes and 30 minutes to answers
questions and usually they add your name in the monthly drawing.
It doesn't pay much but it is interessting to do if you have time to do it in spare time

I do quite well by surveys, but it's all about being the right person with the right mix of sites. I agree with mimi, they can take as little as 2-5 minutes or up to an hour, if you get a focus group, etc. I tend to spend about 30 minutes a day going through surveys and make about $500-600 a month. I guess it depends on what kind of earnings make it "worth it" to you :)

I'm not always in the mood to do them, nor do I always qualify for them, but I signed up to handful of them after doing some reasearch, and everyone I've requested payout from has paid true to thier word. I spend maybe an hour a week doing them and usually cash out from 1 of them every other month or so for 50-100 bucks usually.
But I'm move of a gamer and don't got out much, so qualifiying for surveys about stuff is sometimes hard for me.

Just adding my 2 pennies in here...About surveys/time/money earned....Kinda hard to really put a time estimate on how much time can be involved as each day and each survey is different....Also depends on how many different survey sites you are signed up with
Surveys are what I choose to do as far as earning any type of internet income (of course there are always the IW games where I have won numerous prizes and cash etc over the years...) Never could see spending time doing the PTR/PTC scene....
Then again ya have to remember...Along with the earning potential from surveys...there is also all of the products you get to test and keep...Also there is the satisfation of knowing that your opinion helped to bring a new product to market or not....
There are those survey sites that do have a referral program and x-tra income can be earned by way of referrals...
All in all....I enjoy doing surveys and discovering the new products that are currently being considered for the market.

Some surveys are short and could make a nice amount, like $20 for a one hour survey, and some surveys are long and you make a small amount, like 75 cents for a 20 minute survey. It varies from survey to survey how much time you put in and how much money you get per survey.

I too weigh how much time a survey will take with the incentive offered. $1 for 30 minutes of my time? No thank you :) but $50 for a 1 hour taste test if I qualify. You bet.
