Gosh, Ned....Wish I could help you there. I don't know that much about computers, period!....But, I always have doubts when buying anything that's been used.....usually something wrong with it.
I'd rather pay a little more to get something new, with a warranty.
Good luck!

Sorry I missed this post, Justin. I could've given you some input. Looks like the auction ended already. Did you buy this or find something else?
If you're still looking, let us know and I'll give you some feedback...

Well I ended up losing the auction, luckily. I had to get a tooth pulled on Thursday and wouldn't of been able to if I had a $200 laptop on my Credit Card

Well, if you still wanna buy one some day, make sure the screen isn't damaged, and that you can upgrade some of its parts (memory for example). I'm not that much into laptops so I don't know how useful what I've said will be for you! But I agree with what others said before: perhaps it would be better to wait and raise more money in order to buy a brand new one, than experiment with used laptops...

When it comes to used components or systems, i have many many doubts.
I really recommend this to everyone: it' better to raise some money and buy new components or at least something that still have some warranty.
You always need to have a warranty. You never know when something might brake down and you really need it.

Never believed in ebay for such purchases. I like to get books, music or collectibles for instance, but when it comes to stuff that needs to work, I'd like to have it new from the store. it saves a lot of worries. You have a guarantee time for it, you can also get support, it's good for it to be new.

I guess the best thing to do is read ALL the text. You probably want get a perfect laptop for $200 but maybe it will have only a small problem that can be fixed without paying much extra...My mom got her laptop from ebay and it was supposed to be new but she just sent it off to get fixed a few days ago. It has been giving her a lot of trouble.
