C Neilsen of Canada .They asked if I still was interested in getting the scanner. It was such a long time since I applied. They did say it would be sent to me within ten days. Although I accepted, I have now had time to reconsider. Is there anyone who has taken part in the program who could give me actual information about this? Are there any any actual benefits to my family? Is Home Scan Home Scam?

Hello,

I guess the answer to whether it is a benefit to your family lies in what they offered you to take part in the scanning survey.

In short, we have never seen or heard anything negative about the HomeScan program. I do not believe it is a scam or fraudulent. So, I suppose it depends upon whether they have offered you enough incentive as to whether you should bother taking the time to participate.

Nope, not a scam at all. But people either love it or hate it. My scanner, personally, stunk,never worked, I couldn't get my reports to go in, etc. But there are certainly people that have loved it too.

It's not bad...I usually scan my purchases as soon as I get home, and, it just takes a few minutes. It's easier to do it then, than to put things away, and, then go back to find everything.

The week beins on Sunday and, ends at midnight on Saturday. You must trasmit your report for the end of the week. I try to transmit on Thursday. That allows me some time, in case I forget to do it, or, in case Roadrunner happens to be down...(that does happen! :( ). Also, on 2 occasions, my transmittal would not go through, so, I needed to call in to get help from the Homescan office.

In both cases, my scanner needed to be reprogrammed, and, they did that when I called.

I have been scanning for almost 2 years now; and, I have not won any of their sweepstakes....yet... I have accummulated over 50,000 points, but, have not redeemed for any prizes yet....

Scanning does not take a lot of my time. I don't make daily purchases...usually one big grocery trip per week, and, a few purchases of just one or two items. Most weeks, I only have 5 or 6 trips to transmit.

I don't mind it at all....just wish I would win one of the high $$$ sweeps!

Thanks Brandon and Booker and all those who replied to my questions regarding the Home Scan program.

It is now three weeks later and I still have not rec'd the scanner! There was a $5.00 cheque mailed within a week of the initial phone call but I am waiting to cash it once the scanner arrives if it ever does!

I'll just have to wait and see in the meantime

I have heard of other people not receiving the scanner or not being able to get it working. Hopefully, you will get it and be able to use it, though!! :)

I'm one of the ones that applied quite some time ago & have never gotten a reply from them. So if it comes, it comes. If it doesn't, on to bigger & better things.

Well, I applied a long time before I was accepted....well over a year. But, they wait until they need someone in a given area to sign up a new person.

So, I knew there was already one person near me who was scanning for them; and, I was not surprised that it took so long for them to need me.

To tell the truth, I, too, had given up hearing from them; and, was surprised when they sent me a scanner.
