Recently i successfully completed Livewire survey for $6. To mail me the payment -besides address, name etc. they requested my SS# also. How odd is that? No survey company asks for that. Does anyone has had experience of this kind?

I believe there is already a topic here on this issue...Just do a search here at the forum and you should find it...Yes there are a couple sites that ask for ssn...However...I am reluctant to give out such privvy info. Livewire still owes me $10...However they emailed me and said unless I give them the info. they won't pay me...I told them apparently they need the $$ worse than I do...... Here is one link where this topic has already been discussed...

Yes, I am one of the rare ones who gave them this info. I explain my reasons for feeling okay about it in the post rockin mentions. But that said, I hear from them a lot, always am paid at least $10 and payment is very fast.

While the request your SS# they absolutely DO PAY, so I really think this post would be better suited to the programs that pay section.

Apparently Liga's opinion is that Livewire does not pay and that is why it was in this section that she/he chose to put this post. I personally do not care for any survey site that askes for ss#...That info. IMHO is not needed...if that is the case why then don't the other 50 plus sites I am a member of ask for such info??? Personally..My opinion is that they Don't pay unless you give them such privileged info. Which by the way they tried to tell me this was listed in their TOS...However...I read their TOS and no where in it did I read anything about a requirement for giving them your SS#...If someone here has read that please direct me to where it is stated. I did read that they would require such things as name addy yadda yadda and the like...no mention of SS#...... I would not give out my SS# for any amount of money for a survey. If that is what a survey site requires then that info. needs to be put on the front page when you go to register not wait until after you have completed a survey for them....Sorry for the rant.....

I agree, rockin! I'm sure not giving out my SS#...and, they should tell you before you begin the survey.
I'm sure they ask at the end for a reason....free labor!

I understand why people are leary. But, I still think, for me they are a keeper. But it's all just a matter of personal preference and comfort level.
