I have Paypal and Stormpay only, but I think I will need Egold soon for Aussie Earners. What I dont get is why people "need" egold. Is it because you cannot deposit into egold and need it to upgrade at sites? So if I get a lot of egold I can simply come here and someone will pay me equally for paypal?

Someone explain all this Egold stuff to me...before I sign up for it

Watch out for Stormpay. They have been stealing people's money lately, apparently.

As for e-gold... they let you make payments to anyone anywhere in the world without restrictions. So, for those in countries banned by paypal; it is the only option. That is why some people "need" e-gold.

I hope that clears it up a bit... :dance3:

Thanks

And as for Stormpay, I am not sure what to think. I have heard a lot of bad stuff from other people, but stormpay has also posted their side of the events.

I heard a lot of bad stuff about paypal in the past too, and that is probably the most legit processor their is now. In no way do I "trust" any of these sites, but from what I gather - Stormpay "froze" and "refunded" some accounts...not necessarily blindly took money. I will let it all sort out for itself and check back in on it later. Im just doing clicks there so it is not that big of a deal for me, but after it all settles down we will see.

To answer the original question... The reason people 'need' e-gold is because receiving an e-gold payment is the easiest way to get gold into your account. You can purchase gold through a third party exchanger like London Gold Exchange or many others, but alot of people don't want to go through the trouble. The hardest part is finding a good exchanger that will work for you and has realativley low fees. But if you spend a day or two and research the different sites available you should be able to find one you like and after that it is not too hard to fund your account. Most of these sites have step by step instructions.

Still the best way to do it is to just receive e-gold, so if you are a member of any paid to read or surf sites that payout in e-gold then you can get money coming in.

well good then. I am just at aussie earners, and I suspect I will have to get an egold account to cash out there (I was gonna use stormpay way back when, but i guess not anymore). I do not have anything else that currently uses E-gold, so I should be able to help some people out who always need it in the future. Keep me in mind, but it will take a while for me to build up so I can cash out of Aussie Earners. I am taking it very slow and easy with the paid to surf programs. Took AE free 10 dollars and will go until payout...once I am paid out, I will start investing some money up front on top of what I have.

Aussie Earners is also adding EMO as a payment processor. They have already applied and are waiting for confrimation. That might be another option for you. But e-gold would not be a bad choice as well mostly due to it being accepted by so many programs.

You should avoid EMO right now because the Texas AG has obtained an asset freeze against EMO for mishandling of funds. EMO canot account for 2.4 mil belonging to it's customers. I was using EMO and cancelled everything going there until they get this straightened out.

It's not a great situation for sure. But most of the talk around the net seems to agree that EMO is a legit company and that the rush of 'questionable' sites that switched to EMO after the Stormpay mess is what has provoked the Texas AG to step in and take a closer look at EMO. The "can't account for 2.4 million" could be a simple result of the boom of new accounts and EMO's records not being caught up to the current situation. Considering that EMO deals with international money orders accepted at major banks all over the world would suggest that they probably have some credibility or the banks would not be dealing with them.

This of course is just speculation, but remember any time a government agency steps in on a business it right away looks bad and makes them look 'guilty' when it is not always that kind of case (insert recent e-gold example here)

Lets hope that the proceedings don't take too long and that things can get cleared up for EMO. It would be really tough to lose 2 payment processors in such a short time.

Back to my e-gold and e-bullion accounts...

I believe EMO is no longer around.. and so are many other e-money sites.

As long as I can remember e-gold and stormpay stood the test of time..

Yes stormpay has caused a lot of grief for many users, but then again we don't know the background to them..

To put it in a nutshell, if you loose money because you use stormpay, I am sure you will complain to every known agency that deals with fraud.. well stormpay is still around.. I guess that says a lot..

As for egold. make sure you only log into your egold account on a computer you trust, and be very careful with your password.
