Here is an article all about how to become a mystery shopper, the good and bad points and links to companies who are hiring.

http://www.bankrate.com/natl/default_frame.../20050107a1.asp

If the link is bad, please email me. I have an all text version of the article I can send you.

Although I don't like the bankrate site (or linking to it), that does happen to be a pretty good article with some good resources listed.

Anyone who is interested or considering becoming a mystery shopper will enjoy the read.

Also, here's a review of a great ebook that expands on the resources and exact steps and tips to being as successful as possible in mystery shopping:

As the article mentions, you should never pay for the opportunity to get a mystery shopping job, but some of you may want a little more guidance; and the ebook we review is as good as it gets. It is not necessary for everyone, and is best for those that want to "hone their craft" or learn more before jumping in.

Cheers,

Brandon

Just to let you know, I applied thru Sassieshop about a week ago and there have been 2 notifications of "jobs" in my area and I have applied for and gotten accepted to one.

I don't live in a big city (not the biggest in NC), so there are jobs/postings everywhere. I will let you know what kind of success I have.

Just to let others know: I applied to about 3 free mystery shopper sites to begin with. I have really only heard from one (Sassie).

But, have gotten four offers. I only followed up on one (two were over Memorial Day weekend when I was out of town and one was more than 20 miles away for a grocery store that was only paying an $8 allowance and requiring that you spend at least 45 minutes in the store asking questions in every single section - Sheesh!).

There is hope out there. I imagine there would be more oppurtunities if you registered with more sites, or applied directly, I guess I'm just too lazy! There doesn't seem to be too much demand in my area.

If you want to ask any questions directly about what types of shops or what money they were offering, I'm happy to answer. I'm just not sure if I'm allowed to write it up here - or I would.

You could start a new thread about each of the shops you have joined in the Mystery Shopping forum.

Give us some details about it, how easy to join, have you had any luck stuff like that and like you said what type of shops and what they offer.

Just remember no referral links in this forum  and looking forward to reading about them and maybe finding a new one to join :)
