WARNING: Although this program doesn't contain spyware (I've scanned it with various reputable programs), it should be used at your own discretion. The program does require a password to access it, but it's possible that someone could hack into your computer and possibly crack the code. I want to emphasize that I've never had any trouble with this program, but again use at your own discretion.

This is a little program I found somewhere. It's basically a no-frills database that stores your passwords for various things. I find it very handy as I have a hard time keeping track of all of my accounts for various GPT things.

It can be downloaded here for free:

Just thought there might be other people on here who could benefit. ^_~

Oh wow, I don't know about this. I really don't think it would be a good idea to use something like this. You really should not even write your passwords down if you want to be safe let alone enter them into a database. How do you know that there is not a script in the program that records your keystrokes and sends the information somewhere. Someone could be stealing all of your passwords. Even if that's not the case all of your information is stored digitally somewhere and that could wind up in the wrong hands. It is possible that it is a legit program that is not intended to be unsafe but with all of the hacking that goes on these days I just would not trust it at all. Keep your passwords in the safest place of all, your own head.

Yes, you have some good points. It is dangerous to store all one's passwords in one place however most of the passwords I use that program for are sites that I would have nothing to lose if someone were to learn my password.

As for the program itself, it's around 500 bytes and isn't capable of accessing the Internet. If it did want to access the Internet it would require my approval since ZoneAlarm blocks off access to all the programs unless I verify that I want them to connect to the Internet. As for someone hacking into my computer, I don't know who would want to, but I make it a practice never to store sensitive information on it.

I would love to keep all the passwords in my head, and although I do have a very good memory, I can't keep track of all the account info for the 500+ sites I belong to, especially the ones whose passwords I don't choose.

I'll edit my original post to include a warning though. ^_~

Darn, I used to have Norton but I was having problems with it and had to delete it when I installed ZoneAlarm as the two programs somehow interfere with each other.

I'm just gonna delete those kind of posts. No point in even having them around or counting towards the members post count. The part I just don't get is that there are lots of smutty forums out there, why not just go visit them instead of bothering us???

The user jose_flint is just a spam bot. They just typed in the captcha and the bot started spamming the forum. It happens occasionally, so I just ban these permanently as soon as I see them. ;)

A spambot is a program that a spammer uses to post fake messages (usually advertisements) in forums and blogs. There are many ways to spot a spambot, but I don't like to discuss how because that helps the spammers become better spammers. ;)
