Foberswife, that is an excellent point you make about putting down something wrong. Some of these marketing firms are really picky and do not really "let you in" on what they want.
I wonder if Gyrlgeek might share the basic profile she used when signing up?? Perhaps that would shed some light on the differences between Foberswife, Jens and Gyrlgeek.
For example, my wife has been having excellent success just using the basic housewife profile and gets a LOT of great surveys. She always puts a lot of relevant ideas and feedback when they ask for comments, and I think that has something to do with her success.
However, with SurveySavvy -for instance, she never ever gets any surveys. Same profile, but zero surveys. So, I signed up for SurveySavvy and completed the profile from a Technology CEO standpoint. I do occasionally get surveys for $30 here and there, but so far I've only qualified for one of them.
So, it's a hit-and-miss with some of these companies. It all depends on who their clients are and what types of opinions they want to buy. The marketing firms want to get all genres of members because they never know what clients they'll find, but they do not always have relevant buyers to cater to all of those genres.
Cheers,
Brandon

They wanted people who were planning to call certain airlines anyway, which I wasn't, so oh well, maybe next time.
As for the profile thing, I think it really, really depends on what the client at the time is looking for. BTW I "refuse to answer" about my income whenever I can, and about half the time that ends the screener right there.

There are many different ways. Basically these forums provide information on paid to read, paid to click, paid to promote, paid survey, mystery shopping, etc. programs and sites. You can then choose whether or not to sign up with those sites. There's also alot of information on here about scam programs and programs that don't pay.

Well, I'm almost exclusively in the paid survey biz, so I can only help you out there. As for paying to join sites, don't do it. 99.9% of them are scams. There are exceptions but it's just as easy to make money without paying any. If you look through the archives for this forum (Programs that Pay), you'll find some of the sites people on this forum have had good experiences with. You can also check out the Programs that don't pay forum to find out which ones to stay away from. Alot of survey sites offer entries into sweepstakes as rewards but there are also some that offer cash incentives (usually anywhere from $2-$35 for the shorter ones). If you participate in focus groups (people who get together and basically brainstorm about ideas) you can make upwards of $75. Some focus groups are in-person while others can be done over the phone or on the Internet.
