Like most people, I am constantly bombarded with emails about “paid surveys”. These “companies” proclaim to reward the survey taker with lavish gifts, such as new ipods, gift certificates to certain popular stores etc. Most of the time in order to receive your reward you get snared and trapped into signing up for services you don’t need, or worse, you jump through hoops only to never receive your promised reward. I myself have been the unwitting victim of many such “companies”, so I am extremely weary of “paid survey” opportunities. The following company was not only thoroughly examined (i.e. fine print), but it also stood up under my critical eye as being legitimate. Naivety was no longer going to lead me into a world of snazzy gifts, greedy spammers, and kicking myself for getting involved! This company weathered my barrage of questions with grace, and patience, and after considering all the information available to me I decided to join. Since registering was free, all I could really lose was time. Time is valuable, however, so the last thing I wanted to do was participate only to be disappointed when I never received my reward. About three weeks after completing my first survey I received an email telling me that my account had been awarded $2.00. I was really excited, however, still a tiny bit skeptical that I would receive enough rewards to collect the coveted $10.00 gift certificate to Amazon.com. A month later I received enough rewards to collect my gift certificate! Since then, I have been a faithful member and have collected several more rewards. So, who is this company? TestSpin.com!
TestSpin is an online market research company whose consumer panel includes more than 11,000,000 testers who are paid to review the client's product or service and answer questions regarding their experience with the item. A registered member, or “tester”, gives their opinion on new products, music, videos etc. in exchange for the eligibility to earn up to $600.00 towards merchandise on Amazon.com. TestSpin puts a high priority on creating a comprehensive panel of testers, so no matter your demographics, most likely there will be surveys that you qualify for. After registration with TestSpin, potential paid surveys (ranging from $1.00 to $4.00), or potential paid focus groups (paying up to $30.00) are automatically e-mailed to the tester. The survey invitation links that appear in the emails last only for about 5 minutes before they fill up! A tester must ideally check their email frequently to make sure they are not missing out on paid opportunities! The tester can also check TestSpin’s website as frequently they wish to check for new opportunities. After taking a paid survey, the money is credited to the testers “TestSpin Account” approximately 4 weeks after the completion of the survey. Once the testers TestSpin account reaches just $10.00, the tester can then cash it in for a gift certificate to Amazon.com. The frequency of receiving invitations to such surveys, or focus groups, largely depends on the information gathered at registration. Make sure to provide accurate information and to add TestSpin to your address book (so your email program does not mistaken the emails for spam). Also, when anything changes (such as your email address, home address, employment status, or family size etc.), log into the members areas of TestSpin and update your profile! The last thing you want to do is miss out on fantastic paid opportunities! I have personally already earned two $10.00 Amazon.com gift certificates, and am well on my way to earning another one.

I didn't know that Testspin even existed. How do you go about signing up with them? B)

I am a member of Test Spin and they are an okay site. They pay in Amazon gift certificates currently and I have gotten paid several times. The only problem that I have is that they have disabled my account many times for no reason and I have to login and confirm and account. If your account is disabled then they won't send you surveys. So I have to login everyday to make sure my account isn't disabled.

I get a lot of surveys from them....daily! The bad thing is that I hardly ever qualify for them!
I've managed to reach cash-out with them several times, but, it's always a very long time in between.

I think I am about $2 away from another cash-out....I may cancel them out at that time....I spend a lot of time on their surveys, only to find I that I do not qualify! gr-r-r-r-r

Ah, that is very irritating.

Are the surveys they send the same as you see elsewhere? I'm just curious if they just send out all the surveys they have available to everyone -despite the demographics. If so, then I guess they are trying to look "busy" when they are really just wasting people's time.

That may be what they do, because, most of the surveys I get from Test-spin are Big Business IT-related, which is way out of my field of knowledge. So, I don't need to get very far into the survey to be disqualified. Still, I waste time filling in the information page, because the AutoFil will not work on their form!

Sometimes, they reveal the survey topic in the e-mail invitation; and, I just delete those that I see are "IT-related"

I actually did a JD Powers survey for Test-Spin tonight that I qualified for...a whole $1 earned there! rolleyes.gif

So did I this morning...I now have an entire $24 in my account there... Waiting for them to implement PayPal...I have quite a few of Amazon codes so I don't currently need anymore of those....
