Do you remember February 1993 when a young 3 yr old was taken from Liverpool, United Kingdom, by two 10-year-old boys. Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson.

They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who wascrying constantly for his mummy.

Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint in his eyes and pushed batteries up his anus. It was actually worse than this ... What these two boys did was so horrendous that Jamie's mother was forbidden to identify his body.

They then left his beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run him over to hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys, understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to make it look like an accident.

This week Lady Justice Butler-Slosshas awarded the two boys anonymity for
the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities. They will also leave early next year only serving just over half of their sentence. They are being relocated to Australia to live out the rest of their lives.

They disgustingly and violently took Jamie's life away - in return they each get a new life. If this discusts you as much as it does me then there is an e-mail address for this so called "Lady Jutice" if you would like to voice your opinion to her!!!!
cust.ser.cs@gtnet.gov.uk and attention it to Lady Justice Butler-Sloss.

Thanx for reading!

I must have missed this in the news. What message are they sending to the rest of the world? Like, hello, it is okay to torture because we will give you a new identity? :censor: wallbash.gif wallbash.gif

Do you remember
How can one forget? :(
I am with you 100% on this one, lovelylisa. When my kids were 10, they knew right from wrong and good from bad. These 10 years old knew exactly what they were doing, although they may not have thought about what would come of it. The punishment should fit the crime, and there is no greater crime than taking the life of a little one, no matter what age you are. Jeffrey Dalmer tortured and killed 'cats' when he was a child, and look what he did as an adult. It makes me wonder what someone who tortures and kills 'children' will turn out to be like. I can say one thing for sure, I don't want to find out. But, thanx to Lady Justice Butler-Slosshas, it just may be we get to. How sad!

I am copying my post done last year on this same topic in another thread.
I probably don't have the same opinion as some and I am not going to jump on a band-wagon because everyone else did.

"I am a mother of a ten year old child and I would not want to see her spent the rest of her life behind bars. I don't believe all childern can fully understand the consequences to their actions.
From my own experience, I have a special needs child who is six. He is not able to understand his own strength and is visually impaired. He has injured himself, other childern, and distroyed property in what he thought was play. He was treated horribly at first by the parents and workers at the school to which he wanted to kill himself at five years old. I have tried very hard to get the school to listen to me and the specialists to have the proper supervision he needs to protect himself and the other students. Finally they are on board, he has gotten a second chance and this year has been a very positive experience so far.
He is a very intelligent child, ( I know all moms say that ) but he loves the discovery channel and would rather read encyclopedia's than comics. He has an age 12 knowledge about some things yet in other ways he is at an age 2 level.
He will always need to have supervision to protect himself and others yet there are ways to do it that can be positive and can result in a very productive asset to society.
The thought of losing any of my childern ( I have a four year old son too) is a fate worse than death and in such a horrible way unimaginable. I could never relate to the grief of Jamie's mother. The boys have been punished (no punishment even death would bring Jamie back)and when they get released they should have supervision for life, in a way that would give them a chance to be productive people."

I believe all childern deserve second chances, within the boundaires of their known capablilities and challenges. An update to Clayton my now 7 year old. He is doing very well still. We still have the proper supervision he needs for everyones saftey and he is excited to go to school and learn new things.

God, how can somebody do that to a 3 year old little boy who is innocent beyond belief. These kids should not be able to be released from jail I don't care if they were 10 years old at the time. When I was 10 yrs old I knew right from wrong.

Do I not remember this exact message being posted on this forums a year or two ago?

Ok, here is the link to the first time this was posted:

So how can they be released twice in two years?

Vicki, I see that from my post in the original thread, we share the same views on this. I am sorry to hear about the difficulties with your son. If you stay strong for him it will make a huge difference in his life. Schools are a difficult place to get the kind of personalized cooperation that some families need. I'm sure by now you know your rights and are not shy about insisting on them.
